Spring Is Here (Finally!)—and It’s Time for the Show!

The Vintage Tulsa Show, that is! Nola and Jaymie are already packing and getting ready to head for what is proved to be one of our favorite shows…well-run, lots of new customers, and really lots of fun! Take a look at the Facebook page for the show…there are even some pictures of us from the January show. It’s April 17/18th with a special benefit preview night the 16th. (wine and cheese too!)

Speaking of New Things….

For those of you who can’t come to the show, there are always new things in the Galleria to tempt you…and even more to come after this show (when we catch our breath!)

Be sure and bookmark us: (http://www.galleriaonthegreen.com/  or click on the logo) to find our stores easily.

April Green Tips

Since the advent of digital TV’s there’s little use for the old rabbit ears’ antenna (and using aluminum foil on them to improve reception) according to a delightful article by The Green Cheapskate. Of course he advocates washing and reusing the foil (except for that which has been used for raw meat), but he gives us some other clever tricks for re-using it as well:

  • place a sheet of foil anywhere you want to keep your pets from creating a litter box…or hang strips of foil in the garden on strings to deter birds and other pests,

  • make a collar of the foil around young plants to protect them from insects,

  • scrub rust off chrome or steel rather than using steel wool or a scouring pad,

  • wrap with foil a screw or nut that has stripped threads, then gently tighten it again for a temporary fix.

Did You Know…..

  • More people are killed by donkeys annually than are killed in plane crashes?

  • A snail can sleep for 3 years?

  • Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors (which, by the way, can be sharpened by cutting through several layers of aluminum foil!)?

  • A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out?

  • The ant always falls over on its right side when intoxicated?

(Don’t you wonder who discovers these things?)

Your New Word for the Day

  • The word "lethologica" describes the state of not being able to remember the word you want…….

Hope you have a wonderful spring and that it is the beginning of all good things!  Enjoy the sunshine!!!!
